Have you tried also other rivers across Europe for catfish?

You will see that most of the romanian rivers don't have the same amount of fish that you are used in UK. Because of that it won't be easy for you to fiind good fishing places. If you wanna catch catfish, and traveling is not a problem for you I recomend you to try the Danube ... or even better, de Danube Delta

Good chice Dave! Even if you won't catch anything is still a good choice. Try to hire a guide there, it's quite dificult to navigate an find hot spots by yourself

Dave, I mean you no harm but, in my past I've met quite a few people who claimed that they are somebody they were not just to gain some advantages from this. Fishing places are not a public info here and some people like to speculate on the fact that Romanians are more opened to foreigners toward they show much more hospitality . There is a habit among some people to show of and some are pushing it to the limits posing as someone they're not . Here, on this forum, we are quite opened with each other and we value honesty and for this reason I've questioned your identity in the moment I saw something odd in your speaking. Sometimes in life, you might get as a "bonus" actions or reactions you did not expect as a response to something you did or said .
This being said , as I've already told you , you might have to do some traveling for cat-fishing and your best options are Prut River, Siret River and the Danube with the Danube Delta. All those rivers are holding a good population of catfish (to my knowledge ) and if you study those fish just a little bit , you will be able to find by your self some good spots for each season.
